Summary:For Nikki Donovan, being a teenager can be hell. Literally.
As if trying to fit in at a new school and navigating the social scene isn't enough stress for her, sixteen-year-old Nikki Donovan just found out that her long-lost father is, in fact, the demon king of the Shadowlands -- the world that separates and protects ours from the Underworld. When she is brought there by the mysterious (and surprisingly cute) messenger Michael, she learns that her father is dying, and that he wants her to assume the throne.
To complicate matters, a war is brewing between the Shadowlands and the Underworld, her half-demon qualities are manifesting, and her growing feelings for Michael are forbidden. Ruling a kingdom, navigating a secret crush, and still making it home by curfew -- what's a teenage demon princess to do?
Review: A demon Princess? This is something we don't hear of everyday. So when a mysterious, but cute, guys begins following Nikki around every where, she gets annoyed. So when she confronts him, she's hoping for an "I'm sorry." Not a "You're the Demon Princess and you're in danger." Thus begins this in thrilling tale of Nikki and her new found news, not to mention her powers.
I am happy to report that I enjoyed this novel a lot. It's a great beginning to a series I think many will enjoy reading. It begins with a creepy guy starring at Nikki , and then takes us on a roller coaster adventure.
Nikki was a great main character. She was funny and likable and just great. But she was also independent and strong and I liked that a lot. The other characters were great too. All the characters were nicely developed.
The plot was full of twists and turns and new things kept popping up everywhere, but that was part of the great read. It had a nice flow to it, not to fast or too slow. I also loved the romance aspect of this novel!
Grade: I really liked it.
Cover: It's not one of my favorites but it'll do.
Overall: It was a fast, fun, cute read. If you like romance with some twists and turns and of course, demons, read this one!
